  • The advisory committee discussed updates to Shared Mobility infrastructures and programs.
  • The Public Works staff members, Russ Brooks and Max Gonzales, gave the presentation about Shared Mobility, and they noted that the company known as Nice Ride E-Bikes are no longer operating this year. However, they have partnered with other agencies to bring new E-bikes and scooters from different, highly-rated companies to Minneapolis and to offer discounted rides, more accessibility options, more signage about the transportation options, and more adaptable vehicles.
  • Nick Ngo from Public Works gave a presentation about Neighborhood and Community Relations. He mainly focused on the acceleration of the ADA Curb Ramp Upgrades, which needs an additional funding of $5 million through the Senate for scalable efforts to meet ADA standards of sidewalks and ramps. The total estimated cost is $433 million for ramp replacement and city infrastructure upgrades. The proposal is due by the end of the week.
  • The advisory committee decided that they did not get enough time to review this proposal, and they have questions about some of the language in it. They will be asking Public Works not to send the proposal until they have sufficiently collaborated with them to fix certain terms regarding the standards of accessibility equipment and procedures.
