• The committee received a staff presentation about anticipated impacts of a rent stabilization policy, which ultimately recommended the city not pursue this policy. Further discussion on the rent stabilization presentation will continue at the next regular BIHZ meeting, scheduled for May 2.

• The committee approved an ordinance amendment that allows for “non-permanent, movable skate ramps” that are no more than four feet tall. Currently, the city’s Code of Ordinances prohibits skateboard ramps and structures. “This change will reflect the reality that skateboarding is a safe and inclusive sport that engages youth and adults across the city in healthy activities and community building,” the Request for Committee Action reads.
