The meeting was called to order at 6:12 by the president of the board Kenneth Riggans.
The meeting started with setting a date for the November meeting and then moved to approve the minutes.
The first order of business is a case follow-up for Brandi Taziyah. The The Internal Affairs Department sided with the officer and the board decided no further action was needed.
The next case up is Linda Field, who alleges that the officers at the scene of the accident that resulted in the death of her son Avery, were negligent in running tests on the other driver involved in the accident and temporarily detaining him.He has yet to be charged after
223 days and the family of the deceased has felt that IMPD let her family down. The board is going over the being the driver that caused the accident could have been intoxicated as there was video footage of the driver in a liquor store and a 12 pack of facts.One

of beer was found in the car. The board agreed with the findings of the Internal Affairs department that Officer Gannon’s performance was substandard and the findings will be submitted to the police chief.
Correction:The mother of the deceased young man who presented her complaint to the board was Nina May.
The next case up is Linda Field, who alleges via zoom that during a wellness check for her son the officer failed to properly conduct a complete wellness check because the officer alleged he was not able to gain access into the house.The board agreed the officer could have done
More to try to gain access to the house as it could have been a life or death scenario.
The next case on the docket is the case of Adontae Hamilton.She alleges that during a domestic dispute with her boyfriend the police arrested her because when asked to leave she didn’t leave fast enough and feel the the police punished her. The officers allege that Hamilton, was
in the process of hitting her boyfriend with the car and that led to her arrest.Hamilton’s boyfriend didn’t want to press charges at the time.The police came back on their own accord for a wellness check and arrested Hamilton.
The board agreed that more information was needed in this case and the case was not voted on at this time but will be revisited at a later date.
The last case on the docket is Terence .Plummer alleges that he was falsely arrested for disorderly conduct and when he asked for the officer’s name and the officer’s supervisor he was denied.The board concluded that Plummer had no merit for requesting a Plummer.Mr

The announcements included a training opportunity for board members and the announcement of the date for the September meeting. The meeting was concluded at 7:47 pm.
