Regular Council meeting
Cleveland Heights City Council
Monday, May 19, 2025
7:30 p.m. — 9:30 p.m. EDT
Cleveland Heights City Council is the legislative branch of the government of the City of Cleveland Heights in Ohio. Council meets on the first and third Mondays of the month at 7:30 p.m. in Council chambers. Council typically hears departmental reports, a report from the mayor and the clerk of council. Residents have time to address council during the public comments segment. Council then introduces legislation and votes on legislation. Council does not typically discuss legislation in detail at this meeting; that happens in council’s committee meetings. There are seven elected Cleveland Heights City Council members, each represent the entire city. Council Members are elected to serve a four-year term with the ending dates staggered. (four in one year, three, two years later) Council members work part-time for the city except for the Council President who is full-time. Council members serve two roles in their duties: to draft and enact legislation for the city of Cleveland Heights and act as ombudspersons for their constituents.
Council members:
- Tony Cuda, council president
- Davida Russell, council vice-president
- Craig Cobb
- Gail Larson
- Anthony Mattox, Jr.
- Jim Petras
- Jim Posch
Note: This meeting may start a few minutes late as it starts immediately following the Committee of the Whole meeting (5:00 p.m. -7:30 p.m.) Agendas are typically posted the Wednesday before the meeting and can be found here
