Cook County Committee meetings
Cook County Board of CommissionersCook County Building, 118 N Clark St, Chicago 60602 (Directions)
Cook County Board committee meetings are held in quick succession the day before the full Board meeting. For this assignment, you will cover each of the following committee meetings. Plan to be there from 9:30-1pm (leave before the consent agenda meeting starts). Committees scheduled:
- Rules and Administration
- Finance
- Transportation
- Health and Hospitals
- Business and Economic Development
- Legislation and Intergovernmental Relations
- Asset Management
- Legislation and Intergovernmental Relations
- Finance Subcommittee on Workers’ Compensation
We don’t expect you to prepare deeply for each committee topic, as it is a wide range, but it will be helpful preparation to write out the function of each committee in 1-2 sentences and pick two to focus on a little more deeply (i.e. Health and Hospitals, Workers Compensation). Click here for the schedule and agenda materials.
The full board meeting will be held the following day, September 26. You are encouraged to apply to cover both meetings!
