CLEVELAND CITY HALL-ROOM 516

The Cleveland Board of Control consists of members of the mayor’s cabinet and leaders of city departments. City Council passes some legislation – particularly legislation that authorizes the city to enter contracts for various purposes – that leaves vendor selection and compensation to be set by the Board of Control. The board makes those decisions in this meeting, and it also holds votes on the sale and purchase of land parcels.

The Board of Control oversees the selection of vendors and their compensation for city work, and the sale of land parcels. Here's the meeting agenda: https://t.co/4KWn2sZH7s
Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 4/12
The Finance Dept. has two youth programs whose funding needs approved, Teen Enterprise & @recesscle.
[Transparency: @recesscle was founded by Gen's friend Alex.] https://t.co/a1EBrEqf3U
Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 5/12
And what she said is true, @recesscle has been working with @CLEMetroSchools for years now, and recently expanded their services; this funding will assist in implementing new play/recreation programs.
Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 6/12
The resolution is adopted. Gimme a minute while I call my boy and let him know! 😂
Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 7/12
Moving on, Capital Projects Director Jimmy DeRosa is asking the Board to reject a bid for repairs to City Hall's roof and facade because the contractor did not submit bid forms.
Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 8/12
DeRosa does want approval for improvements to the area of Circle Square. https://t.co/GaLzdzOyp3
Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 9/12
Another Board member asks about the RFP process, if it's too cumbersome, or complex, if that could be why the bid for the roof work wasn't completed? https://t.co/P7SPZP6rgA
Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 10/12
Another board member responds that he does want to take a look at the entire RFP process. There will soon be a pilot program where everything about it is done electronically. https://t.co/jci6nyJgnK
Gennifer Harding-Gosnell @GenniferwithaG_ 11/12
Both resolutions are approved. Moving on to Public Works, where approval is needed to allow a valet service to operate in the City Hall Rotunda Saturday, 3 Sept. for a wedding. This is also approved.
